Reviews

  • terrible, laggy, constantly drops calls, doesn't work at all if you aren't in wifi (kind of defeats the purpose of a mobile app). doesn't forward to voicemail reliably. just overall a horrible app/system. do not recommend

  • Can't search through messages and when you type in a number you have texted before, it doesn't show past text history until after you send a new message.

  • Love the fact calls are recorded, we can text, and it follows us on multiple platforms like internet, laptop, and cell phones. Only suggestion would be to make it easier to answer calls when on another call on my cell. I hear the phone ringing but there isn't any prompt to switch calls. Must be because I'm on my cell and preference is set on data calls. Overall very happy with system.

  • This app works OK, but it has its share of annoying things about it. For example, when the app is running in the background, if I step into my car, when the Bluetooth connects to said car, it will cause the car to think I'm in a phone call via the app when I'm not. This happens 100% of the time in two different cars. My only recourse is to manually press the 'End call' button and force close the app every time. Another annoyance it in how it handles voicemail playback. It doesn't work well.

  • Garbage app. Regularly freezes while calling, headset (wired or wireless) support is spotty at best. And frankly the interface is clunky, ugly, and not at all intuitive. Why would anyone build a calling app that doesn't default to the dial screen? And this is to say nothing of the service itself, which leaves much to be desired. But hey, what do you expect for the cheapest VOIP service on the market?

  • App is absolutely terrible. I have reached out to ooma several times and if I get a reply they just say to delete the app and redownload it. Calls are dropped when I hit accept. Sometimes I am in the middle of a call and connection is lost. Sometimes I can listen to voicemails on the app and sometimes I cannot. Half of the calls don't even come through the app until I get a missed call notification. Very very glitchy and not a good look when I have to call customers back all the time.

  • The app is dreadful. It had no way to end a call because the hang up button didn't work so I had to restart my phone to hang up. Did an update that caused no calling out. Deleted and reinstalled and now it has no inbound calling. The base station is as bad. Customer service is bad. They said our 3 yr old base was bad so I ordered a new one and it has to be rebooted several times a day. We're missing too many calls and have no choice but to find reliable phone service. Ooma doesn't gives a damn.

  • ooma hijacks Bluetooth and will not relinquish the phone after a call us over. Now the app continues to ring even though I have picked up my phone at my office. the app will not relinquish the call unless I reboot the phone.

  • Worked great for months, now the last 6 weeks or so it constantly fails connect to the server so I cannot use it to make outgoing cellular calls, just says failure to connect. I have to use VoIP now and that is not a great idea while on LTE and on the move. I have removed and reinstalled and it works for a few minutes, reboot the phone and it does the same. Cleared cache and memory of the app, removed reinstalled, same results. This happens on wifi (300 Mbps down / 18 up) and LTE.

  • This app would work if microphone volume in VOIP mode would work. Using cellular mode is the only way to have good call quality consistently. UI is much better in VOIP mode. Cellular uses the default android dialer, and closes the app when you hang up - annoying. Overall quite clunky. When receiving another call (call waiting) while on speaker phone, the screen is locked to the incoming call. Dismissing the waiting call hangs up the current call too. It's like this app is in beta or something.

  • The app is pretty much useless as a phone but I use it to alert me of calls and voicemail, and then go answer them or return the call on the actual in office Ooma phone. Calls get dropped when I answer. Can't hear voicemail (the volume is incredibly low and won't get louder). The transcription of any VM gives me a hint at what the caller is saying but it's a joke as well. The only actual useful feature is I can change my voicemail greeting from home with this app if need be.
